EASY TO USE

The system has been designed for researchers who need maximum productivity and efficiency from their measurement system. The system is pre-calibrated and the hardware is highly portable and quick to set up in the field. Furthermore, the active markers are always intrinsically identified and can never be confused or swapped, no matter how many markers are used, how close they are to each other, or how complex the movement. No time is lost in complicated pre- or post- acquisition operations or in learning how to use the system. This frees the researcher from data processing tasks, allowing them to concentrate fully on the research itself.

CONFIGURABLE ANALYSIS SOFTWARE

Codamotion provides software which can be set up for any marker protocol within minutes. Custom graphs, stick figures, real-time settings, joint angles, rigid bodies can all be defined. Appropriate settings for a given project can be saved as a Setup, making it possible to switch from project to project at the click of a mouse.

AN OPEN SYSTEM

In addition to Codamotion�s own extensive analysis software, the Codamotion System allows researchers to develop their own tools for data analysis. A Matlab Toolbox is provided to facilitate easy import and processing. Real-time extensions can be written using the Codamotion SDK (Software Development Kit).

For the most demanding biomechanical analysis applications, Codamotion systems are fully integrated with the C-motion�s Visual3D Software. Visual3D has gained worldwide acceptance for clinical and research use. It is the most extensive, 3D movement analysis software package available for visualizing and analyzing movement data.

HIGHLY ACCURATE

The Codamotion System has evolved to have maximum ease of use and portability, whilst maintaining high accuracy and resolution. As an active marker moves the resulting correlation peak of each sensor determines the marker position with very high resolution (0.05mm in approx 5m). The sampling period for each marker is 42 microseconds, so data is frozen precisely at an instant in time. Active markers have the practical advantage of being very thin that they lie flat against the skin of the subject with minimal offset.

INTEGRATION WITH FORCE, EMG AND VIDEO

In addition to highly accurate and real time movement information, synchronised data streams from a wide variety of peripheral devices can be connected, including force plates, EMG (Electromyography) systems and reference digital videos. This means that fully integrated data acquisition can be accomplished with a single click.
