UK & Ireland Codamotion Conference

Tuesday 07 October, 2008

Loughborough University was the setting for this autumn’s UK & Ireland Codamotion conference & workshop on Tuesday 30th September 2008. A somewhat fitting location, as it was at the University in the 1970’s that David Mitchelson , now Charnwood Dynamics’ company Chairman, first began his pioneering work in automated techniques for 3D movement analysis.

The aim of this one day event was to bring together a number of Researchers, Physical Therapists, Bio-mechanists, and Clinicians from a variety of different backgrounds and areas of interest. The event also provided opportunity for delegates to network and to share experiences of working within movement analysis, and to get to grips with different aspects of the Codamotion technology.

A morning of keynote speaker presentations kick started the day, illustrating how a number of Codamotion systems are being used throughout different areas of movement analysis. Presentation topics included; Neurology, Sports performance, Parkinson’s disease, Stroke rehabilitation, Gait analysis and Euler angles.

After a spot of lunch delegates were introduced to the new Gait Analysis Software, followed by the chance to see it in action in a typical Gait Lab scenario. Later, once all the enthusiastic questions had been addressed, it was off to neighboring Loughborough University Sports Technology Institute for the final activity of the day .A jaw dropping guided tour of the sports technology research facilities.

A big thank you to all our Keynote Speakers for those wonderful presentations, and to all delegates who attended the event. We hope you enjoyed the day.
